NGO

Non governmental organisations (NGOs) have played an important humanitarian role in Afghanistan since 1979. Although the majority of the NGO’s are Afghan ones the largest programmes are implemented by international or multinational ones. NGO’s are involved in everything from improving education standards to improving human rights. Results do not come without challenges and some NGO’s have brought positive changes however there remains much to be done.
