Afghan Institute of Learning | Creating Hope | Dr Sakena Yacoobi
Afghan Institute of Learning created in 1995 aims to improve the lives of Afghan people by focusing on education, training, healthcare and disaster relief. It’s founder Dr Sakeena Yacoobi has come face to face with the Taliban but not let that deter her efforts in spreading education in the country she loves. Raised in Afghanistan and educated abroad she has given a generation of people hope after years of war.
The initiative has achieved:

8 Clinics
Each year:
25,000 students educated
209,000 health patients treated
125,000 in health education
Over 17 years reached:
12 million people
Dr Yacoobi is also co- founder and Vice President of Creating Hope International (CHI) and has established private facilities in Afghanistan:

1 hospital
1 radio station
